Trogl’tooth Dressup

“In the brightest corner of the dimly lit king’s chamber sits a large mirror. The king “stands” in front of the mirror, slumped over, and propped on the tail of a giant beast. The creature, Trogl’tooth, is deciding how he wants to dress his puppet for the coming day. He delicately drapes the clothing on the king’s corpse, ensuring his terrible claws do not shred the fine cloth.”

Who is Trogl’tooth?

  • Trogl’tooth is the great, great, great, etcetera descendent of the legendary Tiger Demon. Among his siblings and cousins, he’s the most physically monstrous.
  • A fashionista since his youth, Trogl’tooth was constantly agonizing over the fact that no tailors could design outfits for his… abnormal form. It certainly didn’t help that he and his kin eat people.
  • Dressing up the king is his favorite part of the day, and receiving compliments on his outfits gives him reason to live.

What of the Kingdom?

  • The Kingdom, Areavast
    • The second most eastern kingdom in the land, Areavast serves as a buffer zone for the EE (Eastern Empire). Though it has its own monarchy, Areavast is technically a vassal state to the EE.
    • Though Areavast has never been known for being a rich nation. Between a lack of valuable resources and the only active trading zone being firmly controlled by the EE, the only influx of revenue comes from a small exports of perishable goods.
    • The country is full of arable land and lush forests. Between stable agriculture and plentiful wild game, Areavast has never known famine or strife. At least, it hadn’t.
    • Since Trogl’tooth secretly took over the kingdom, there has been a plague of tiger demons upon the land. To their credit, the people of the country adapted quickly to the demon’s presence. Their hunting culture quickly became geared towards exterminating tiger demons, despite only ever targeting large reptiles before.
    • Regardless, the population of Areavast has greatly suffered from the attacks of the demons. Villages have been abandoned in many areas, leaving only scattered populations in remote areas, and a cluster of more densely populated towns around the capitol city.
  • The King?
    • The puppet king is the son of the previous king and was the apparent heir to the throne. He went on a quest to the west, wanting to explore the world and make foreign connections before becoming king.
    • On his journey, he was stalked by Trogl’tooth, who identified the prince as royalty, and immediately began plotting.
    • The prince was killed before returning home, and his puppeted corpse was welcomed home with the usual fanfare. Soon after the prince’s return, the king was killed by a tiger demon while on a hunt.
    • In response, the new king locked down the capitol, and imposed strict control over the nearby towns. Only those areas remain safe from the tiger demons.
